Pick Inter Plaza Mayor if…

You travel as a group or family.

  • You are 3 or 4 people. It is the only one of the two with real triple and quad rooms. Puerta del Sol only sleeps 1 or 2 per room.
  • You want a private terrace. The Superior room comes with its own — the only terrace across both hostels.
  • You prefer Habsburg Madrid. Right next to Cava Baja, San Miguel Market, the Royal Palace, La Latina. The most "old Madrid" district.
  • You need room-type variety. 6 categories versus 3 — easier to fit mixed groups.

Pick Inter Puerta del Sol if…

You travel solo or as a couple, and want to move around a lot.

  • You are 1 or 2 people. The 3 room types are designed exactly for that setup (including the flex double for couples or friends).
  • You arrive by public transport. Sol station 3 minutes away on foot (metro lines 1, 2 and 3 + Cercanías C-3 and C-4 direct to the airport, Atocha and Chamartín).
  • You want to be next to commercial Madrid. Gran Vía, Fnac, Casa del Libro, the Art Triangle (Prado, Reina Sofía, Thyssen), Las Letras district right there.
